BMW has finally revealed the all new 4 Series Coupé. The next generation 4 Series Coupé represents new bold design, its dynamic performance has also been improved
It is based on the same platform as the new 3 Series, It features a new sleek side profile, full LED lights front and rear. The most attractive change is the large front ‘kidney’ grille, The new style further differentiate two-door.
The 4 Series 4-seat cabin includes many familiar BMW design.There is a changed layout, the push start button in the centre console.The updated version of BMW’s iDrive infotainment includes a new larger display.There are new sports seats as well, the folding rear seats split 40:20:40. You get boot volume of 440 litres.
The 4 Series will comes with three petrol engines and one diesel engine. Two 2.0 litre four cylinder petrols engine provides 184hp (420i) and 258hp (430i), a 48V mild-hybrid 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo diesel provides 190hp (420d).
The higher end variant is M440i xDrive, delivering 374hp and 500Nm from a 48V mild-hybrid 3.0 litre six cylinder turbo petrol engine. It’s capable of going 0-100kph in just 4.5sec, and a top speed of 250kph.
Another variant with a Mild-hybrid six-cylinder diesels delivering 286hp and 340hp will be available next year in March.
All these engines have a same 8 speed automatic gearbox. M Sport cars feature quicker shifts, this adds one more feature that is launch control with a new driving mode named ‘sprint’.
Rear-wheel drive is standard on models like M440i, 430d and M440d; where as four-wheel drive is optional on the 430i and 420d.
BMW has finally worked to reduce the chassis weight through a mixed steel and-alloy, use of aluminium panels with the chassis that has been tweaked.
BMW 4 Series will go on sale in international market in October.
While BMW India has yet not revealed if the new 4 Series will come to india. the brand had sold previous generation M4 models in India.
