DDR3 vs DDR4 RAM,which one is more efficient?

First of all what is DDR?

It stands for double data rate, officially as DDR  SDRAM is a double data rate (DDR) synchronous  dynamic random access memory(SDRAM) class of memory integrated circuits  used in computers. DDR SDRAM, also rcalled DDR1 SDRAM, has been classified by DDR2 SDRAM, DDR3 SDRAM and DDR4 SDRAM.A motherboard with DDR4 slots cannot use DDR3, and you can't put DDR4 into a DDR3 slot.
DDR3 was first released in 2007 and used on everything every computer .  since 2017, many platforms have switched to use DDR4 and most Intel platforms shifted away from DDR3 with the 6th Gen Skylake CPUs. So if you want RAM for your an 8th or 9th Gen Core CPU or later, or an AMD Ryzen processor, you'll need DDR4.

DDR4 actually requires lower voltage  consumption than DDR3. DDR4 runs at 1.2 volts, where as DDR3 at 1.5V. The voltage difference is of  15W over DDR3.

However, Main difference between DDR3 and DDR4 is speed. DDR3 specifications stars at 800 MTs and end at DDR3-2133. DDR4 starts at 1600 MHz, with official support for up to DDR4-3200—and overclocking kits can go as high as DDR4-4800. The increas in  speed is  an overall increase in bandwidth.
