Airpods have always been very popular among people, maybe because of its style or because of its price. After the success of airpods, last year Apple launched Airpods Pro.
Apple is now planning to add health related updates to AirPod pro.
DigiTimes report suggests there would be a component part of biometric measurements.The sensors could be related to health monitoring features like heart rate and blood oxygen saturation from the ear.
Can Apple achieve a similar function without redesigning the way AirPods and Airpods pro sit in the ear.Apple patent claims earbuds for monitoring system which have an advanced biometric sensor that will detect physiological metrics like heart rate, temperature etc, through skin contact or via built in motion sensors.
After airpods pro Apple is planning to add Ambient Light Sensors to monitor data such as blood oxygen level and heart rate.
According to DigiTimes, Apple has asked their supplier ASE Technology to manufacture ambient light sensors which could be used head movement and interpret heart rate. ASE Technology will apply the silicon packaging process to next-generation Apple earphones, to monitor heart rates, step counts and health conditions and detect head motions.
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that the iPhone is planning to start mass production of third generation AirPods at the end of this year which will arrive in Q1 2021.
